Fleurs du Mal

Statement

All the works  in the series were inspired by poems written by Charles Baudelaire and Arthur Rimbaud. An alchemy of words and wide range of materials shaped the dark aesthetic Of the works, which meant to represent a thin balance between the earthly And the ethereal, the mundane materials and the spiritual ideas. In “lamentation piece” I have used a technique of installing a metal piece Between two layers of fabric, a technique I have developed shortly after graduating from the Bezalel academy. The whole series  was created using a combination of traditional Silversmithing techniques and contemporary approach, a combination that has been a part of my work for many years by now. I used a wide range of materials such as black salt, eggshells, paper, wool and organic materials to name just a few.
